The largest yacht built in Spain on sea trials along Vigo’s bay

The ship built in Freire is 111 meters long and has seven decks
Such a large pleasure boat has never before been built in Spain, and as luxurious as this. Freire shipyard from Vigo has made 111 meters long and 18 meters wide superyacht reality. Yesterday he sailed around, whitish and imposing, in his first water tests through the estuary after being painted in the stands of Metalships (the operation was not possible in Beiramar Area).
It still does not have a name and Freire has not made public the identity of the personality or company that commissioned it (this type of contract usually has confidentiality clauses), but it is impossible to go unnoticed. Two tugboats assisted the vessel yesterday, which cost is also unknown for now.
The ship, officially, is for an owner in the Cayman Islands. Norwegian designed, the spectacular yacht has seven decks, swimming pools, a projection room, and several suites. Several auxiliary companies from the estuary have worked on the project, whose structure has a perfect aluminium finish.
Freire Shipyard has become a true shipbuilder reference for the construction of large recreational and expedition ships. It is a very demanding discipline due to the use of cutting-edge technology. The shipyard from Vigo not only builds, but also repairs: last year they did some repair work, revised the engines and installed a retractable system on the turret of the Azzam, the mega yacht hosted by the king emeritus in Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Freire closed 2021 with a turnover of 101.8 million euros, leading the construction of ships at Vigo’s Bay. This figure represented an increase of close to 35% compared to 2020 (67 million). Only Armón Vigo can improve these figures thanks to the acquisition of the former Barreras and several oceanographic orders.
