The Government gives the green light to the bases that will govern the aid for the Naval sector

The planned aid may have a multi-year character in the period 2022-2023, both included, as determined in the corresponding calls, and a maximum term of realization until June 30, 2025.

The Official State Gazette has published the order of bases that will govern the granting of aid for a value of 200 million euros corresponding to the industrial value chain of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation for modernization and diversification of the Spanish naval ecosystem (Perte Naval), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

For Minister Reyes Maroto, "we fulfilled the commitment to launch this project that will allow us to transform the value chain of our naval sector through its diversification towards marine renewable energies, develop low-emission ships and digitize them to improve their environmental sustainability. This Perte will be the key to improving the competitiveness of the Spanish naval industry, internationally recognized for its strengths of versatility and ability to adapt to global market conditions”.

According to the head of Industry, the objective of this Perte "is to generate significant returns, not only economic but also social, since it is expected to contribute to the creation of nearly 3,100 quality jobs, mainly in peripheral regions, contributing as well as the demographic challenge policy”, he underlined. The maximum budget of the aid to be granted under this order for the period 2022-2023 will be 200 million euros, of which 120 correspond to the recovery and resilience mechanism in the form of a grant and 80 will be in the form of a loan charged to the State's general budgets.
