Pescanova pre-selects two shipyards for the construction of their seven vessels
Armón and Vulcano are the best positioned – Foresees an increase of 5% in their sales. Pescanova will announce in “two weeks” where they are going to build the seven fishing vessels that are going to work in Namibia and Mozambique and on which they will invest 42,5 million euros.

Armón and Vulcano, according to some sources from the sector, are in the best position to take over the contract. “Armón is the one who asked the most for the deck equipment”, as the same sources stated, and has already built various shrimp trawls for the fishing enterprise to send to Mozambique. They are little vessels, of around 30 metres in length. The ones to be sent for Namibia are 50 metres trawlers, valued in 10 million euros each. This is the segment in which Vulcano wins, although none of them has received a formal communication from the fish

In his opinion, the results obtained in 2016 and so far this year show that the problem of the company wasn’t about a pattern, and the extensive reliance showed by the banks that control their shareholding - the so-called G7 – are also a proof of that.
