Nodosa finalizes the contract of two fishing-vessels for the North Sea

With these contract the Factoría Marín Shipyard (Galicia-Spain) will reach the dozen fishing boats signed in almost three years.

Nodosa Shipyard is now finalizing the contract of two more fishing ships thus increasing the list of vessels signed by Marín shipyard, reaching the dozen fishing vessels in almost three years, since they get the adjoining installations of Factoría Naval de Marín. Both ships will be for the same shipowner of Nordic origin and will work in North Sea’s waters.

The negotiations about these two boats have been going on “for months now” and last week they made an important progress during the celebration of DanFish International Exhibition, which took place in the Danish city of Aalborg between 11th and 13th October. Nodosa participated on the fair and had a meeting with the shipowner in question, apart from other potential clients.

For the time being only a few information has emerged about these ships, although it has been possible to concretize that they are going to be bigger than the two twin ships contracted by the Osprey Dutch group – Henk Senior, already delivered, and another currently under construction-, that were 28,6 metres in length.

The fishing vessels that will be part of a dozen of contracts secured by the shipyard are preceded by the two already delivered – a longline vessel for Malvinas (CFL Hunter) and the first of the twin trawlers for the Dutch group- and by another one that is precisely delivered today. The Monteferro will become today from 13:00h the first trawler from Vigo built and delivered in 12 years when delivered to their owners, Rampesca (from the Fontán family).

This one will be followed by a trawler for Armadora Pereira (at an advanced stage), two more vessels for Osprey (the twin of the Henk Senior and a larger one), two for a German company and another trawler for a company from Vigo, Pesca Baqueiro. To them can be added a R+D project for a mussel factory vessel.
