At least 4 shipyards from Vigo’s bay opt to renew the company’s fleet The board of directors of Nueva Pescanova wants to close after holydays the contracts of some vessels, three trawlers destined to Namibia’s fishing ground, with them it has decided to begin the partial renewal of the fleet, as old as the last fishing boat it built, the Sil, 30 years ago.
The aim is to renew eight vessels until 2020, the company acordedd to expent 42.5 million Euros. Three, the most urgent, will be 50 meters long and they will work in Namibiafishing ground, and the other five, no more than 30 meters long, will fish shrimp in Mozambique. The aim is that the first ones will be working at the beginning of 2019.
