The Basque shipyard Zamakona signs 4 vessels that will serve to Pemex
TMM have just close an agreement for the construction of vessels in the Basque shipyard
Petroleos Méxicanos (Pemex) cannot tender for more vessels because they do not have budget. However, they can rent them, because they need them to continue searching, extracting and transporting oil in Gulf of Mexico.
Some Mexican ship owners have already realize the business. For example TMM (Transportación Marítima Mexicana) that has already closed an agreement for the construction of four vessels that will serve to the oil company.
The cost of the order is 72 million. The contract is the result of negotiations between the consortium IMC (Industrial Manufacturers of Cantabria) and the Regional Government of Cantabria that, after achieve the order, has awarded it to Zamakona, with the commitment of the consortium's auxiliary industry of Cantabria have a 40% of the workload.
