Vithas will be, again, official medical service of Navalia
An advanced medical post and an ambulance will move to Ifevi
Vithas Vigo Hospital will once again be the official medical service of the IX edition of Navalia, International Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry Exhibition, the shipbuilding and maritime industry exhibition held in Vigo every two years and will open its doors on the 21st at IFEVI, the Vigo fairground.
In this way, Vithas Vigo consolidates itself as a healthcare reference for major events promoted by the business and productive sector aimed at professionals; since it is present in all the internationally relevant fairs taking place in Vigo. In this sense, the managing director of Vithas Vigo Hospital, Dr. Ciro Cabezas Checchi, values this type of services that Vithas offers to the business community of Vigo since "a city grows with its economy, but it must also have health." In this sense, Vithas Vigo manager highlights all the preventive actions carried out by Vithas, which range from specific campaigns with free tests open to the population, to the offer of medical check-ups, health dissemination talks, and collaboration with the companies and associations that demand it.
Thus, the Vithas Vigo Hospital has already been providing health care to the workers of over 400 exhibitors who have been setting up in a fair that due to its characteristics, requires a high number of specialized workers for more than a week. To do this, Vithas has a space of about 20 square meters in which nursing staff are attending to possible medical incidents of these workers.
Starting on Tuesday, the assistance device will have, throughout the fair's hours, the presence of a fully equipped ambulance to carry out not only transfers, but also on-site assistance, with health emergency technicians; an emergency doctor from the Vithas Vigo Hospital will provide assistance during the opening hours of the fair, available to visiting exhibitors; as well as administrative staff.
Likewise, the healthcare staff will have, in addition to all the healthcare material necessary to offer this service, telemedicine equipment that allows them to connect in real time, through encrypted communications, with the Vithas Vigo Hospital, and in this way, make the necessary consultations with a specialist.
This equipment consists of eight devices, a vital signs monitor, with which a 12-lead electrocardiogram can be performed, measures blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation level and temperature; a general examination chamber; a dermatoscope; an ultrasound probe that allows inspection of the pharynx, the oral cavity; electric stethoscope, which allows cardiopulmonary auscultation; an otoscope (ear); iriscope (iris); and ophthalmoscope the entire eye. This service is already operational on thirty deep-sea ships based in Spanish ports.
