Diputacion de Pontevedra will participate for the first time in the history of Navalia, they will promote technical conferences
The institution will host a dozen presentations, panels and round tables in its conference room with topics as important as decarbonization within the shipbuilding sector, analyzing possible alternative energies for future maritime transport.
The Pontevedra Provincial Council (Diputación de Pontevedra) joins in to actively participate in the International Shipbuilding Exhibition, Navalia, which will open doors of its ninth edition on the 21st of May. The institution will thus get involved for the first time in the history of the trade fair by promoting the technical conference program, which was announced this morning at the last meeting of its Executive Committee.
The president of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, Luis López, and the vice president and head of Vigo area, Luisa Sánchez, participated in the meeting. In statements to the media, López framed this collaboration with Navalia within the commitment of the provincial entity he presides to “employment and the economy, since key elements and companies from a fundamental sector are concentrated at the trade fair.” Along these same lines, the president of the Provincial Council stated that "our province cannot be understood without everything related to the sea", so this new stage of collaboration will mean visitors can attend the technical conferences carried out inside the Pontevedra Deputation Room.
On the one hand, the president of Navalia, José García Costas, wanted to highlight the good harmony with the provincial entity and thanked them for "becoming part of the organizational structure of the trade fair and for helping us in all fields we are requested collaboration.”
Diputación de Pontevedra Room will host a dozen presentations, panels and round tables with topics as important as decarbonization within the shipbuilding sector, analyzing possible alternative energies for future maritime transport. Specially, in this powerful day made up of five panels, to be focus on fuels such as LNG, ammonia or Ethanol, and will feature speakers from companies such as Balearia, Armón or Navantia, as well as more experts from Greece, France or Portugal. This classroom will also celebrate conferences organized by Soermar on the Hidram project or the Maritime energy of the future, with the presentation of four important European projects.
During the meeting, the director of Navalia, Javier Arnau, presented the rest of the technical conferences program in the Aula Xunta de Galicia. Thus, this Spanish Maritime Perte, organized by Aclunaga, Asime and the Basque Maritime Forum; and the challenges and opportunities in the maritime industry energy transition, a presentation organized by the Port Authority of Vigo. On the other hand, and for the second consecutive time, the Spanish Navy will participate in Navalia organizing a meeting titled “The future navy”, which will take place in the Ifevi venue Auditorium, and in which sustainability and technological challenges will be discussed. This conference aims to seek the involvement of the Spanish auxiliary industry to compete in international markets.
