Almost 400 exhibitors and 900 represented brands to reopen NAVALIA’s doors
The International Shipbuilding Exhibition, that grows 20% in terms of foreign exhibitors on this eighth edition, expect to reach 20,000 professional visitors
The International Shipbuilding Exhibition will return on May 24 to 26. And it does it after the cancellation of what should have been its eighth edition in 2020, caused by the global pandemic of COVID-19. But waiting has been worth it and, once again, the eighth edition of Navalia will open its doors with almost 400 exhibitors and 900 brands represented. In addition, the fair will increase foreign participation since international exhibitors have grown a 20% compared to 2018. In this sense, the presence of Iran, Lithuania, Australia, Sri-Lanka, China, Slovenia, Turkey, or Croatia should be highlighted, unusual countries up to date at the trade fair, as well as confirmed delegations from Cape Verde, Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia, and the Netherlands.
Maritime Regional Clusters will also be present in Vigo from Andalusia, Cádiz, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Galicia, Basque Maritime Forum and, as it couldn’t be in another way, the Spanish Maritime Cluster, of which Navalia is also a part of.
Navalia is today the most important event in Spain within the shipbuilding industry and it is among the three most influential in Europe in the post-Covid era. It will occupy pavilions 1, 2 and opens pavilion 4, expanding the number of companies in the exhibition hall main area. It will also use the hall space and again increases its outdoor exhibition. Organizers expect to reach 20,000 professional visitors, who can now formalize their registration through the website www.navalia.es
Mobile APP
One of the challenges is to optimize resources and improve the trade fair ecological footprint over the coming years. And in its efforts to minimize the use of paper, the event will not have a printed catalogue on this occasion, like other international fairs are already doing. That is why Navalia will make a mobile phone application available to exhibitors and visitors that, among other things, will allow them to carry their online badge without having to print it.
The APP can be downloaded from May 2 onwards for IOS and Android systems, it will have an interactive map of the venue allowing easy and intuitive navigation, in such a way that when the interested person selects a stand, all Exhibitor data will appear, represented brands and contact, according to the information they have provided.
The mobile phone APP will also inform by notifications about events, institutional visits, or public meetings, as well as the different talks included in the Technical Program of Conferences, which will be held simultaneously in two rooms: AULA PUERTO DE VIGO and AULA CEPSA.
Technical seminars
Over three days Navalia will, once again, become a point of knowledge dissemination and international news within the shipbuilding industry thanks to its Program of Technical Conferences aimed at professionals in the sector and free of charge for attendees. On this occasion and through almost 40 actions, including conferences, round tables and demonstrations, the focus will be on these topics:
- Maritime cyber security
- Maritime sector Innovation
- Shipbuilding industry Logistics
- Ship’s machinery Digitization processes
- Welding modular alternative solutions
- Shipbuilding Industry Energy optimization
- Ships Thermal Energy and carbon footprint reduction
- Maritime inspection drones
- Shipbuilding sector risks
Trade missions
Pontevedra, Vigo and Vilagarcía de Arousa Chamber of Commerce together with the Vigo Free Zone Consortium will carry out a reverse trade mission to be held within the framework of Navalia 2022. These business meetings, which will take place in the “Business Meeting space”, will have no cost for Galician SMEs that want to participate, as a limited number of places is established.
From its side, Xunta de Galicia (regional Government), through Igape (Galician Institute for Economic Promotion), and in co-operation with Aclunaga (Galician Maritime Cluster), will also hold a reverse trade mission with almost thirty companies. Both trade missions will include companies from Colombia, Chile, Peru, Panama, Morocco and Italy, among other countries yet to be confirmed. In addition, Galician cluster (Aclunaga) will organize a "Summit" with all international delegations on Tuesday, May 24, to publicize Galician industry.
Spanish Shipbuilding Industry FINE Awards
The FINE awards will be held again within the framework of the International Shipbuilding Exhibition, awards that aim to recognize the great work of professionals within the sector. The jury, co-chaired by the directors of Navalia and Sinaval, will deliver these awards on May 25 at Pazo Los Escudos Hotel.
