Efficient and sustainable fisheries technologies to be discucussed at Navalia 2016

Spanish Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology Platform, through Fisheries Technology Working Group, is organizing a workshop focused on “Smart fisheries technologies for an efficient and environmentally sustainable fishing sector” which will take place on May 25th from 16h00 to 18h00 in XUNTA DE GALICIA room in NAVALIA Trade Fair.

The aim of this conference is to encourage Spanish Entities participation in the topic SFS-22-2017 de H2020 “Smart Fisheries Technologies for an efficient, compliant and environmentally friendly fishing sector”, as well as to promote networking with European Entities taking advantage of the opportunity to participate in the International Trade Fair of the Naval Industry.

Likewise, during the conference we will make public R&D projects related to these call impacts which are running in Spain, as a demonstration of power and relevance that Spanish Fishery Industry can gain importance in Europeans H2020 calls. We will count with high level speakers as; AZTI-TECNALIA representatives, who will focus on new technological solutions to promote sustainable use of fisheries resources. EOI speakers, whose intervention will be focused on existing methologies and technologies to improve data collection and evaluation of fisheries resources. CEDEPESCA speakers will center on European collaboration to face the challenge of efficient and sustainable fishery. And IFAPA representatives, who will have an impact on solutions to improve professional skills and capabilities of sea workers. In addition, PTEPA intervention will be centered on expected impacts and opportunities which means this call to the fishery sector.
About PTEPA: Spanish Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology Platform is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to promote R&D in fishery & aquaculture sector including Products Processing and Commercialization. The Platform is supported by the main fisheries and aquaculture entities which join forces together in all the value chain, playing a fundamental role as tractive entities increasing competitive technologies in the companies of the sector. The main objective of the Spanish Technology Platform for Fisheries and Aquaculture is to bring together all stakeholders and reach consensus and to coordinate actions and information related to technologies. In general terms, PTEPA supply recommendations concerning R&D and Innovation to stakeholders and provide integration in privileged positions in Spanish Fisheries and Aquaculture sector.
