NAVALIA, AT THE BEST HISTORIC MOMENT OF THE GALICIA'S NAVAL INDUSTRY
Over the recently past year 2005, the situation of the Galician shipyards is defined by the intense activity. Among the merchant vessels delivered in 2005 by the Galician shipyards an elegant ferry (Volcán de Timanfaya), built at Barreras Shipyard, a high-sea rescueand pollution-control tug (Luz de Mar) ordered by the Spanish Rescue and Salvage Agency from Armón Vigo, and two additional rescue and pollution-cleanup ships (Sebastián de Ocampo e Irmáns García de Nodal) delivered by Cardana Shipyards and Naval de Marín Factory, respectively, to the Government of Galicia.
The Galician yards also produced a good number of fishing vessels of different types this year, including trawlers, longliners, and purse seiners. In general, the list of most recent delivers includes a range that goes from a 74-m freezer trawler to a boat for fish farming tasks and small units of effective designs and outfitted qith efficient equipment.
