NAVALIA 2012 organizers travel to Morocco to visit shipyards and ship owners

In the course of the week they will meet nearly 20 companies to promote the exhibition. The commercial mission in Casablanca and Agadir will be the last promotional action before the opening of this fourth edition. Navalia 2012 organizers travel this week to Morocco in a commercial mission in which they will visit almost 20 meetings with shipyards, ship owners and oil companies in Casablanca and Agadir. This trip will be the last one of the exhibition one month before its official opening. Morocco is making a big effort in the renewal of its fishing fleet, because the sector is one of the main economic sources of the country. Fishing mean the 2.5% of the country GNP and employs around 45.000 people. Morocco has nowadays big business possibilities for the naval sector, because it is absorbed in the port of Tangier building, which is called "Tánger - Méditerranée", that needs companies and specialized labour. The infrastructure is hope to be turned into the future terminal of the second port of Tangier, that in 2015 wants to compete with the port of Algeciras and the rest of the Mediterranean. According forecasts, these two ports capacity should reach 8.5 millions containers in 2015 and they will have 2.500 dock meters. Apart from its fleet renewal, the country is making a big bet for the renewable energies, specifically wind energy on the north.
