More than 500 exhibitor brands from 75 countries will participate in NAVALIA 2012
The four editions of the International Shipbuilding Exhibition of Vigo will leave in the region more than 50 millions Euros. The event, that expects a turnover of 5.000 millions Euros, will gather 25.000 professional visitors from the 22nd to the 24th of May. The nowadays naval situation, the international economy circumstances or the direct competition with other international exhibitions of the sector could be enough reason to postpone Navalia. Nevertheless, the Shipbuilding International Exhibition of Vigo will open once again in just one month, with the participation of more than 500 exhibitor brands from 75 countries that will take up 25.000 squared meters. This afternoon, the city of Vigo receive the official presentation of the event, that counts on the presence of Abel Caballero, City Mayor; Javier Guerra, Economy and Industry Councillor, Juan Díaz, General Manager of Novagalicia Banco; and Javier Arnau General Manager of Navalia.
The event biennial character has allowed that during these two years the Navalia organizers, lead by Javier Arnau, has made a constant internationalization work that will bear fruit from the 22nd to the 24th of May. Arnau said that the exhibition reachs its four edition "with renewed hope and turned into the first one in Spain and the fifth in all over the world". The General Manager of the event emphasized first of all, the high level of the people members of the Executive Committee, a fundamental organism in the exhibition and whose work and strategic decisions allow reaching all the sectors of the naval industry. All of this has allowed carrying out a international visits agenda I which Navalia furthermore, has tried to turn into a promotion tool for the sector. Therefore, in the 2010 - 2012 period Navalia has been in more than 20 countries from all over the world, being the only Galician company present as exhibitor, in the 15 tops world naval exhibitions. This promotion agenda has had as main references the emergent countries of the naval sector as Brazil, Mexico, Russia, or Arabic Emirates. Javier Arnau said that last contacts with Pemex in February, will be traduced in the visit of a large Mexican delegation during the exhibition. The General Manager of the event, take the opportunity to congratulate the Xunta de Galicia and the Spanish Government because of the announced agreement with Pemex this morning and emphasized that the joint work of all, administrations and companies will return to our shipyards last power.
Beneficiary sectors
During 3 days the exhibition centre of Vigo will be the meeting point of the international naval sector and the organizers expects that more than 800 meetings face to face will take place, these could mean a turnover of 5.000 millions Euros in the long term. Countries as Mexico, Brazil, Panamá, Morocco, France, Russia, or Lithuania will have delegation companies in Navalia, although Javier Arnau expects that some more confirms their participation along this month.
But an event like this, not only benefits companies related with the naval sector. Arnau estimated that with this fourth edition, Navalia will contribute to the region with more thyan 50 millions Euros, with out forget the Vigo and Galicia promotion to large professionals from all over the world.
Regarding parallel activities to the exhibition, Javier Arnau emphasized the innovative vocation of Navalia. And if in 2010 the first Symposium of energy efficiency on fishing vessels , E-fishing, took place, in this edition the Off-shore Day, a congress about the importance of the petroleum as strategic activity for our shipyards and auxiliary industry as well as for the wind platforms on sea will be added.
