The wind marine platform will investigate and generate energy

The experimental station in the Cantabrian that the University of Oviedo will build, which equipment will be the first one of this type in the coast of Asturias for the marine energy research and creation, will have an investment of 11.5 millions Euros and a project deadline of three years.

The station venue, which sitting would be decided in one month, will be located two kilometres away from the coast of Asturias in front of Peñas Cape or Busto Cape, the two locations considered for its position. Installation users will have at their disposal a space to prove and certificate their electrical energy equipments that generates this energy taking advantage of marine resources. The equipment includes: an “off-shore” experimentation column that will be the main infrastructure located in the sea; a floating investigation platform which modular structure that will allow an ordered growth; a multimodal transfer system, in charge of joining the marine and land parts; and a buoy system that collects meteorological parameters.
